Lucas Lepri is one of the most decorated jiu jitsu athletes in history and is widely regarded as the greatest lightweight competitor of all time.  Lucas is currently a 9-time black belt World Champion.  His black belt competition run began in 2007 by winning his first World Championship. In 2014,  Lucas returned to the top of the podium in every major tournament he entered, including again winning the World title, in what many call the most dominant performance of the 2014 World Championship tournament. Lucas followed up his previous successes with another title winning performance at the 2016 World Championships, which was described by Flo Grappling as “flawless”,  as he submitted his way to yet another gold medal.

Long known as one of the most prolific grapplers on the planet, Lucas has now focused his championship level abilities to the coaching realm-leading his academy to the 2016 IBJJF Charlotte Open Championship in only its second year of existence.

Lucas hails from Uberlândia, Minas Gerais, Brazil and came to the US in 2009 to instruct at Alliance New York City. After 3 years of instructing in NYC, Lucas spent 2 years instructing at Alliance US Headquarters in Atlanta, GA, alongside Master Romero “Jacaré” Cavalcanti. Lucas currently heads his academy, Lepri BJJ, in Charlotte, NC. His  student’s successes are a testament to his teaching and coaching abilities.  His athletes accomplishments include many World, Pan, and European title.
